The authorities operating at Kuwait International Airport (KIA) submitted new recommendations today to the health authorities, to exclude 4 new categories of arrivals to the country from institutional quarantine, to be added to the previous list of exceptions, on the condition they bring a PCR test and quarantine at home for 14 days, official sources revealed to Al-Qabas daily.

The sources said that the new categories considered for exemption are after consideration and monitoring of several cases among arrivals at Kuwait Airport, and can fall under an exceptional situation. These recommendations are currently being studied by the health authorities for study and approval.

The sources indicated that there is a team formed, from several ministries, first studying any cases that need an exception, and then submitting recommendations if they require that.

The new categories being decided on are the following:

1- Kuwaiti patients returning after treatment abroad at their own expense, and were not sent for treatment abroad, provided they present a certificate detailing their treatment from the health office in the country where they underwent treatment, as these cases require special care.

2- Senior citizens who are over the age of 60 years, as some of them arrive in the country, and are unable to move. This group requires special care.

3- Accompanied minors coming from abroad.

4- People with special needs who need special care.
