The Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Al-Saeed, announced the launch of the new service for the bedridden in accordance with the updated protocols to include home visits and the provision of integrated multidisciplinary health services, within the framework of ensuring the implementation of the pillars of the development plan and the New Kuwait Vision 2035 of improving the quality of health services and providing them in accordance with the best standards for citizens.
Minister Al-Saeed said in a press statement today, Thursday, that this comes to achieve the goals of sustainable development and based on the keenness of the Ministry of Health to ensure that everyone enjoys healthy lifestyles and promotes a decent life for all, reports a local Arabic daily.
He explained the service includes periodic medical visits to follow up on chronic conditions, medications and treatments, and provide oral and dental health services, physiotherapy services and therapeutic nutrition.
In this regard, he appreciated the role of the Central Administration of Primary Health Care and its preparations to launch the new service, pointing out that health care centers are the first line of defense for the health system.
For her part, Director of the Central Department of Primary Health Care, Dr Dina Al-Dhubaib, said in a similar statement that the integrated multidisciplinary home visit teams consist of a family doctor, dentist, physical therapy technician, pharmacist, nursing, laboratory technician and nutritionist.
Al-Dhubaib explained that obtaining the service is done either by applying through the website specified for that, or by requesting the service through the respective health center, according to the area of residence.
She stated the service request is available through the website from Sunday to Thursday from 8 am to 7 pm, except for Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm, with the medical reports attached to the references.
She confirmed this service, which is limited to periodic visits is not for emergency cases.
