The Ministry of Education has identified its needs for local contracts for the academic year 2022-2023, for holders of university qualifications to work in public education schools, in the English, French, mathematics, science, chemistry, physics, biology, geology, philosophy, and decoration disciplines in addition to music education.

Al-Qabas quoting sources said the applications are expected to be received after the announcement is made by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ali Yaqoub which is expected to be soon and ruled out any delay in the official announcement of local contracts, unlike previous years. Sources said the announcement will be made on the official website of the Ministry of Education after the national holidays and then begin to sign contracts with more than 1,000 teachers to teach 11 subjects.

The sources indicated that the announcement of the educational needs of teachers locally is usually done annually during February and March, and the procedures for completing the contract by the public education and administrative affairs sectors are done before the beginning of the new scholastic year.

According to the announcement of local contracts for the academic year 2022-2023, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Qabas, applicants must adhere to the experience required to accept their documents in all subjects, with the exception of the female music education major, where the experience was limited to three years for those with non-educational qualifications and two years for those with educational qualifications.

Exceptions are made from the experience requirement for holders of a doctorate degree and those who have obtained a grade of no less than ‘very good in university qualifications, holders of a Master’s degree, and who have obtained an average of not less than ‘excellent’ in the university qualification, as well as graduates of the College of Education from the Kuwait University and graduates of the College of Basic Education of Kuwait’s Public Authority for Applied Education and Training from Inside; the appointment is limited to passing the personal interview, and no case or specialization is excluded from this.

The priority of appointment is after all Kuwaitis are accepted in the disciplines required for the outputs of the local teacher preparation colleges for the children of Kuwaiti women, of unspecified nationality, and the sons of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and then expatriates, and no application for employment will be received until after the availability of all documents according to the announcement.

The announcement confirmed that applications from visit visa holders will not be accepted, and the scientific qualification and profession in the work permit must be no different from the job applied for (teacher position), and preliminary approval is also required for workers in private schools or the private sector approved by the sponsor, in addition to a copy of accreditation.

Upon receiving the applications, the academic qualifications and transcripts must be certified by the official authorities and the validity of the data from the cultural offices of Kuwait in the country of graduation, and a true copy of the certificate and transcripts and a statement of regularity certified by the Kuwaiti cultural attaché to the certificate issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must be brought.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that all applications will be submitted electronically through the Ministry’s website through the link “Job Opportunities Local Contracting”, pointing out that when the application is accepted, the concerned person will be contacted to review the Human Resources Department, in the auditors’ hall in the Ministry’s building in South Surra, bringing the documents with him. Personal interviews of the candidates will be conducted in accordance with the conditions in force in the Ministry.

The announcement stated that when applying for work at the Ministry of Education for nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the passport and personal identity card of the contracting country must be attached, and all documents should be valid.

The Ministry of Education stressed that upon passing the interview successfully; good conduct and behavior from the country of the applicant must be brought, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country and the Kuwaiti Embassy, and the Human Resources Department, Department of Selection of Educational Jobs.

The sources explained expatriates who apply to work in the Ministry of Education, must bring the original passport and a copy thereof, and its validity period must not be less than two years, as well as a civil ID and a copy of it.
