While the Ministry of Education continues its preparations for the new academic year, which is scheduled to start next September, informed sources confirmed the ministry’s keenness on cooperation between all sectors for the sake of stability of work and the continuation of providing requirements and services related to the educational field in preparation for the start of the 2023-2024 academic year.

The sources told Al-Qabas daily that the latest education preparations, represented by the Planning, Follow-up, Preparation and Preparation Committee for the start of the academic year 2023-2024, which was formed by former Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Adwani, referring to the allocation of 8 practices for the provision of school furniture, because the tender No. GS 12/2022-2023 related to the supply, transportation, installation and maintenance of office furniture, which includes items related to departmental furniture only and is under review by the regulatory authorities.

With regard to printing and supplying textbooks for the 2023-2024 academic year, the sources confirmed that 88 practices for textbooks have been offered and contracts are being signed, in addition to two practices at government printing presses, with a total of 90 practices for textbooks.

With regard to the transfer of tests, the sources indicated that two practices have been put forward and contracts are being signed, indicating that there are approximately 40 tenders and practices for air conditioning and comprehensive maintenance, some of which are ongoing and most of them are under tender and review by the regulatory authorities.

She pointed to the completion of the disbursement of the schools’ financial fund payments and transferring them to their bank accounts, stressing the continuation of work in all sectors to provide all obligations and requirements for schools in preparation for the start of a problem-free academic year.

On the other hand, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Osama Al-Sultan, met with the President of the Teachers Association, Ahmed Al-Houli, and members of the Board of Directors to discuss common issues in the field of education and to discuss proposals and issues related to teachers and preparations for the new academic year.

During the meeting, the academic calendar of Resolution 1 was discussed and the public education sector’s latest preparations for the next academic year.
