The Ministry of Education (MoE) had their budget cut down by more than KD400 million by the Ministry of Finance for the new fiscal year, Al-Anba daily reported quoting sources from the educational sector.
MoE requested from the finance ministry a budget of KD2.4 billion, but after the slash the approved budget is KD1.99 billion, states sources.
Sources said the first chapter of the requested budget, which includes salaries, amounted to KD2.2 billion; and the remaining amount was distributed to other chapters.
