The Ministry of Health (MoH) is awaiting the final approval from the State Audit Bureau of Kuwait to finalize its contract with the Moderna Company to receive a supply of one million vaccine doses in various stages, at a cost of up to KD12 million, Al Qabas daily reported, quoting sources.
The vaccine supply will help to reach community immunity in Kuwait in a short period, along with the batches of Pfizer and Oxford vaccines.
The clinical trial data showed that the Moderna vaccine is 94% effective in preventing Covid 19, and works in a similar way to the Pfizer vaccine, and requires two doses to be taken four weeks apart to be effective.
