Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) Khaled Al-Rouhdan said Wednesday that his ministry was seeking to make Kuwait an open market in a bid to contribute to promoting national economy.
The minister made the remark on the sidelines of opening an exhibition held under the rubric: ‘Made in Qatar’, under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali Al-Kuwari attended the opening ceremony of the event.
He said that the exhibition reflects distinguished economic and trade relations between Kuwait and Qatar, adding that trade exchange shot up by 30 percent over the last couple of years. The Kuwaiti minister spoke highly of the significance of such exhibitions to consumers who can get familiar with fresh types of products.
On his part, the Qatari minister, speaking to KUNA, said that the exhibition offers privileges and facilities for the display of Qatari products, and thanked the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the smooth passing of the necessary procedures. He added that all participating businesses, which represent the private sector and Qatari factories, are competing for showcasing their best products.
