The Ministry of Commerce closed 54 accounts specialized in online auctions for watches, precious items and others in coordination with the Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology, and at the request of the committee formed by both sides to deal with the issue.
Despite the large number of accounts that were closed, the ministry will once again investigate many other accounts data on social networking sites in cooperation with the authority to prevent any future sale of watches.
Chairman and CEO of the authority Eng Salem Al-Othaina disclosed they received a statement from the Ministry of Commerce about a number of electronic auction accounts suspected of involvement in money laundering, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources.
