In a ministerial decision issued by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Fahd Al-Shariaan, a committee shall be formed involving the Public Authority for Industry, and led by the Director-General and members consisting of government officials, to equip Kuwait’s infrastructure with electric car chargers.
Al-Shariaan said the committee shall lay out a road map for the electric charging stations, while defining a list of international specifications for electric cars. The list shall include the required socket types, in addition to technical conditions for car charging stations with electricity. He also said the specifications include studying and preparing technical regulations for cars, bicycles, and electrical hardware.
The duration for the work, distribution and government agencies designations shall cover one year from the committee’s establishment.
