The official spokesman for the Ministry of State for Communications and Information Technology, Mishaal Al-Zaid, confirmed that the ministry signed a contract with the advisory office to complete the feasibility study for the privatization of the fixed communications network through the Public-Private Partnership Projects Authority.

Al-Zaid indicated that this project is receiving great attention from the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Rana Al-Faris.

During a meeting with the Advisory Office on Investment Development for the Communications Sector in the presence of the Joint Committee of the Public-Private Partnership Projects Authority, she issued directives to those concerned with this issue to speed up the work and to overcome all obstacles so that the project can be implemented as soon as possible.

Al-Zaid indicated that this step comes after several meetings held by the joint committee between the ministry and the “Partnership Authority” to develop the fixed communications network, which were chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications, Eng. Kholoud Shehab.

He said this step falls within the ministry’s aspirations to provide new job opportunities for Kuwaiti youth, as well as enhance state revenues in line with Kuwait’s vision 2035.
