The Ministry of the Interior, represented by the Traffic and Operations Sector, the General Traffic Department, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, conducted traffic and inspection campaigns against violating garages and workshops in Abu Halifa on Saturday.
According to Al Jarida newspaper, the officer of Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department at the GDT, Major Abdullah Bu Hassan, said that the campaign targeted workshops in the area, resulting in the immediate closure of two workshops that violated the law regarding the sale, installation and supply of vehicles with loud exhausts.
In addition, traffic officers and inspectors of the Ministry of Commerce found six metal plates for vehicles hidden in a workshop. Bu Hassan stated that the inspectors have taken the necessary legal measures and referred violators to the competent authority.
