The Ministry of Works has obtained approval from the Ministry of Finance regarding the allocated budget of 270 million dinars for the road maintenance tenders. This financial allocation is in line with the cooperation of other relevant authorities to ensure the successful completion of this endeavor, as per the instructions of the Council of Ministers. It is expected that around 30 international companies will compete for these tenders, reports Al-Rai Daily.

In an effort to maintain transparency, Minister Amani Bouqmaz and ministry officials held a meeting with Faisal Al-Shaya, the head of the Audit Bureau. The meeting covered various topics related to ministry contracts, including the issuance of tenders for road maintenance. The discussions were fruitful, with the attendance of key individuals such as Adviser Saud Al-Mutairi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Advisory Body Sector Minister Eid Al-Rashidi, and Assistant Undersecretary for the Financial, Administrative, and Legal Affairs Sector Kifaya Al-Najdi.

The ministry expressed its inclination towards selecting a global office to oversee the implementation of the tender contracts, with the inclusion of national personnel from the ministry’s sectors to participate in the supervision process. The efforts of the team responsible for preparing the project documents were praised for their efficiency in completing the task within a month, adhering to the agreed-upon timeline without any delays. The minister emphasizes the importance of timely completion of all work according to the established schedule.

The ministry has announced the availability of six tenders for road maintenance in the respective governorates, three tenders for comprehensive maintenance works on highways, bridges, rain drainage networks, and related services in the northern, central, and southern regions. Additionally, there is a tender for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Sheikh Jaber Bridge. The bidding process will be open until June 15th, as stated in the ministry’s announcement.
