Informed sources in the Ministry of Public Works said that Minister Ali Al-Mousa stressed, during his recent meeting with senior officials of the ministry, the need to fill job vacancies in all sectors of the ministry, by employing national cadres in the jobs needed by the ministry after implementing the first and second phases of the replacement plan during the past two years.

The sources said Al-Mousa stressed the need to open the way for Kuwaiti youth from various disciplines to work in the vacant places, in coordination with the Civil Service Commission, noting that the percentage of citizens in the ministry currently exceeds 98% of the total workforce of about 15,000 employees, reports a local Arabic daily.

In turn, the Director of the Planning Department in the Ministry Eng Iman Al-Omar, said the ministry recently informed the Civil Service Commission of its needs for fiscal 2022-2023 on the number of job opportunities available, including 637, distributed among various sectors and specializations, compared to 716 jobs for the last fiscal year.

She pointed out that the ministry has opening for 18 Master’s degree holders, 12 for holders of postgraduate diplomas, 11 opportunities for PhD holders, and 95 opportunities for holders of various other qualifications.

She explained that the administrative, financial and legal affairs sector topped the sectors most in need, with 169, followed by the control and audit sector with 142 jobs, then the Government Center for Tests, Quality Control and Research with 135 jobs, and then the health engineering sector with 89 jobs.
