The criminal security sector of the Ministry of Interior continues its campaigns non-stop to arrest violators of the residence law, fictitious domestic workers offices, and immoral acts in coordination with relevant government agencies.
A local Arabic daily quoting security sources said the campaigns Thursday evening resulted in the arrest of 79 violators of residence and labor laws, including 10 beggars and 11 people who were seized for violating public morals.
Security sources told the daily the campaigns were organised upon instructions of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas to combat the phenomenon of beggary in all governorates, and that those arrested resulted included children of different nationalities including Arab and that they have been referred to the deportation department.
The sources said detectives of the Public Morality Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation managed to arrest 11 people, including 3 men of Asian and African nationalities from Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh for running a website contrary to public morals in front
In another campaign which was supervised by the Director General of the Governorate Security, Brigadier Abdullah Saffah resulted in the arrest of 58 violators of the residence and labor laws.
The source added that those arrested are 18 expatriates whose residence permits have expired, 17 people who do not have identification, 12 wanted persons against whom arrest warrants are registered, and 11 expatriates what the ministry termed ‘bulk labor’.
This is in addition to issuing 22 miscellaneous traffic violations during the campaign.
