The Ministry of Health, represented by the Blood Transfusion Services Department, launched its annual blood donation campaign, Together Forever, a Wall for the Homeland, which the department organizes for the eighth year in a row, on the occasion of the anniversary of the brutal invasion of Kuwait and the sacrifices made by the nation’s martyrs.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Supportive Medical Services, Dr. Yacoub Al-Tamar, confirmed that the campaign encourages community participation, indicating that it comes as a continuation of the ongoing campaigns throughout the year that the Ministry of Health carries out to activate and enhance awareness of the importance of blood donation to enhance the strategic stock of the blood bank, reports Al-Rai daily.

For her part, the medical director of the Blood Transfusion Services Department, Dr. Hanan Al-Awadi, confirmed that the campaign witnessed, since the early morning, a turnout, which she described as excellent, especially from members of the military institutions.

She said that the campaign comes within a different framework this year, as cooperation is usually between the Ministry of Health represented by the Department of Blood Transfusion Services and institutions with social responsibility from the governmental or private sectors, while participating in the campaign this year, in addition to civil institutions, members of military institutions such as the army and police and the National Guard and the Public Relations and Media Department of the Directorate-General of Fire Department (DGFD).
