The Ministry of Health has issued a clarification regarding what has been published in the social media regarding the recruitment of nursing staff from overseas.
The Ministry wants to make it clear that it has not engaged with intermediary companies for the recruitment of nursing staff since 2018, adhering to the established regulations.
In an official press release, the Ministry emphasized that the process of applying for nursing positions follows a specific protocol. This involves direct cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the respective government institutions in the source countries for nursing professionals.
Many of the advertisements seen on social media related to nursing employment through intermediaries in certain Asian countries are outdated, with some dating back as far as 2014.
The Ministry detailed the method by which foreign nursing staff recruitment is conducted. It begins with formal memorandums of understanding between the Ministry of Health and relevant foreign government bodies. Following this, a sequence of steps transpires, including personal interviews, assessments, temporary appointments, job evaluations, and eventual permanent appointments.
The Ministry pointed out that recent years have witnessed nursing recruitment announcements only in select countries, such as Pakistan and Jordan. These announcements are made through the respective government channels in countries like Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Tunisia.
The Ministry stressed the importance of verifying information for accuracy and credibility before dissemination, underscoring that the propagation of misinformation could erode confidence in the healthcare system.
