Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi issued three ministerial decisions on 23 July 2023, aiming to improve the public health, dental, and healthcare sectors in the country, Alrai Media reported. The first decision is the appointment of Dr. Al-Mundhir Wael Al-Hassawi as the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs. Dr. Al-Hassawi will also continue to serve in his current roles as the head of the AIDS office and a consultant for internal diseases and infectious diseases.
Moreover, the decisions also include the appointment of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Asad as the Assistant Undersecretary for Dental Affairs, who will also remain as the head of the Jahra Specialized Dental Center. On the other hand, Dr. Nadia Ahmed Jumaa was appointed as the Assistant Undersecretary for Health Care Affairs, while continuing to serve as the President of the General Medical Council. The Health Care Affairs sector includes the Department of Primary Health Care, the Department of People with Special Needs and Patient Safety, the Department of Prevention and Response to Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases, the School Health Department, and the Department of Health Services for the Elderly.
