The foreign contracting committee members of the Ministry of Education are expected to go to Jordan and Palestine to hire about 645 teachers to fill the shortage in government schools, after a hiatus of about 3 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, reports Al-Qabas quoting ministry sources.
The Coordination and Follow-up Department of the public education sector has identified its needs to hire non-Kuwaiti educational staff, in the context of organizing and providing the requirements for the next academic year (2022-2023), especially with plans to open new schools in the near future, reports a local Arabic daily.
The sources indicated the public education sector has addressed the Undersecretary of the ministry Dr. Ali Al-Yaqoub regarding the need to hire non-Kuwaiti male and female teachers for the following specializations — English, French, mathematics, science, chemistry, physics, biology and geology.
The sources indicated the public education sector has identified only two countries, Jordan and Palestine, to recruit new teachers through the foreign contracting committees, indicating there is a proposal for the committee members to visit one country on next June and the other country in July.
Undersecretary Al-Yacoub is said to have agreed to the request and referred the matter to the administrative sector to complete the procedures.
The sources indicated that the Ministry of Education will ask its foreign counterpart to instruct the competent authorities in the two countries to publish the announcement in two widely read daily newspapers, twice in each newspaper on an inside page, and also to announce on the radio during appropriate periods like what was done in previous years. The applications should be received from the date of the announcement until the arrival of the delegation members to conduct interviews.
Ministry has the opening for following 645 male and female teachers:
1 – English language 80 teachers (only male)
2 – French 20 teachers (only male)
3 – Mathematics 310 teachers
4 – Science 65 teachers
5 – Chemistry 35 teachers
6 – Physics 65 teachers
7 – Neighborhoods 35 teachers
