The Minister of Public Works, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Amani Bouqmaz stated that there are 4,329 cases filed by and against the Ministry of Works, and 57 verdicts have been issued against the ministry since 2015 until January10, 2022, and it cost the ministry 19.843 million dinars.
Bogmaz was responding to a query by MP Hamdan Al-Azmi. He said the ministry is keen to defend its rights and spares no effort in defending public money, as six financial verdicts were issued in its favor, worth 3.77 million dinars, reports a local Arabic daily.
Boqmaz explained that the Ministry periodically follows up and collects the debts owed to it, and approximately 11 percent of them have been settled during fiscal 2021/2022.
He revealed various parties owe the ministry 175,245,445 dinars and the ministry is in the process of collecting these debts. However, the Council of Ministers has been made aware of the debts issue.
