In a new episode of the series of legal abuses and violations, the Ministry of Social Affairs has referred the issue of half a million dinars said to have been embezzled from shareholders’ money in a cooperative society to the Public Prosecution Office.
The report of the Review the Business and Accounts Committee of this cooperative society, a copy of which has been obtained by Al-Qabas, show there are no records in the Accounting Department, in addition to the presence of 7 kiosks that were rented without approvals from the ministry, pointing to others suspicious activities to the tune of 300 thousand dinars.
The report speaks of 60 administrative and financial violations against one cooperative society, while other documents were submitted proving the involvement of an administrative official and a member of the coop in receiving cash which has not been deposited in the coop account.
The committee also noted discrepancy in disbursing ‘overtime allowance’ to some employees, in addition to replacing 8 employees without the ministry approval.
