Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ali Al-Yaqoub, announced the ministry’s need for non-Kuwaiti teachers who hold university qualifications to work in public education schools for the next academic year 2022/2023.

According to a local Arabic daily, “Those who hold degrees in Science streams and passed from the faculties of the Kuwait University will be accepted on priority basis  provided the applications for employment are accompanied by documents and provided the applicant’s profession is mentioned as teacher.

The announcement also stipulates the initial approval of workers in private schools or the private sector must have the approval of the sponsor, in addition to a copy of the sponsor’s authorized signature and one personal photo measuring 4 x 6 cm.

When receiving applications, the academic qualifications and transcripts must be certified by the official authorities and attested by the cultural offices of Kuwait, in the country of graduation.

It is also necessary to bring a “true” copy of the certificate, transcript and a statement of attendance certified by the Kuwaiti Cultural Attaché for the certificate issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In the case when the applicant is a citizen of pthe Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the passport and personal identity card of the country must be brought, and all documents must be valid.

Acceptance for employment is linked to passing the personal interview, and no case or specialization is excluded from this.

Dr. Al-Yacoub mentioned general conditions and notes for the applicant that the general assessment of the university qualification should not be less than good, and the applicant’s age should not be more than 42 years.

Priority for appointment after Kuwaitis is for children of Kuwaiti women married to bedoun and then thevchildren of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Adherence to the experience condition is required to accept applicants’ documents in all subjects except music education (females), as follows:

3 years for those with non-educational qualifications, and two years for those with educational qualifications.

The certificate of experience is received in the governmental and private fields of teaching only, and not in the quota and wage system, and it is documented by the official authorities. The following categories are excluded from the experience requirement:

Holders of a doctorate degree and who have obtained a grade of at least very good in the university qualification, holders of a Master’s degree and who have obtained an average of not less than excellent in the university qualification, graduates of the College of Education from Kuwait University, and graduates of the College of Basic Education from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training and all other government colleges in Kuwait.

Emphasizing that the Council of Private Universities is equivalent to the certificates issued by private universities, and when the applicant passes the interview successfully, he must check eith the Human Resources Department, the Educational Jobs Selection Section for necessary approval.

Those who pass the interview must also bring “good conduct” from the country his/her employer and be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of the applicant and the Kuwaiti embassy there.

Applications are submitted electronically on the Ministry of Education website. Job opportunities link, local contracting (www.moe.edu.kw), and upon acceptance of the application, the concerned person will be contacted to review the Human Resources Department, auditors’ hall in the Ministry’s building in South Surra, along with the documents mentioned above.

Personal interviews will be conducted for the candidates in accordance with the applicable conditions them in the ministry.
