Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Rana Al-Fares has inked a cooperation agreement with Kuwait Society for Human Rights regarding personnel safety at workplaces.
Dr. Al-Fares said in a statement on Sunday, “Ensuring labor rights in any enterprise boosts work environment safety,” noting the ministry approach to boost such rights as a value and practice. The minister also said that the agreement would be followed at Work.
It is the first time the department has inked such an agreement with a public welfare association for the safety of the workers, minister Al-Fares added. For his part, the society chairman, Khaled Al-Humaidi, stated the necessity of the agreement for the society, branding it “a practical embodiment of a serious partnership” with a government department. Hazards at the workplace vary from one sector to another. Risks for the laborers at oil installations, for example, are much higher than those in other sectors.
