Ongoing investigations are being conducted concerning the tragic traffic accident allegedly caused by a well-known woman resulting in the deaths of two Kuwaitis and severe injuries to their companions.

According to security sources the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid, is directly overseeing the progress of the investigative procedures in this case, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The sources emphasized that inquiries into this accident, which transpired early Thursday at an intersection within the Capital Governorate, have unveiled that the woman was responsible for the collision who allegedly crossed the red traffic signal.

The source underscored that the Minister of Interior’s directives are unequivocal and resolute: applying the law uniformly to all individuals without any leniency towards wrongdoers or those engaging in reckless behavior that jeopardizes lives. The instructions further stress a commitment to preventing any attempts at interference or manipulation of the investigative process.

Meanwhile, after the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received details of a devastating accident involving two vehicles colliding at an intersection in the Capital Governorate said one of the vehicles had jumped the red traffic light.

“In response to the report, traffic and emergency personnel promptly rushed to the scene. The damaged vehicle was carrying four citizens and the man behind the wheel and the one in passenger seat succumbed to the fatal injuries.

Two other occupants seated at the rear of the vehicle sustained injuries and were pulled of the car wreck with the help of firemen.

They were subsequently transported to a medical facility for urgent treatment, their conditions classified as severe,” the source said.

The source explained, “Deputy Public Prosecutor and forensic experts were summoned to the location. The remains of the deceased were duly removed and transferred to the forensic medicine department, while the damaged vehicle was cleared from the scene, facilitating the flow of traffic.”

The source emphasized that the woman was arrested and taken into custody at a local police station, facing a range of charges including “involuntary manslaughter” and “running a red light.” Investigations are ongoing to unveil the underlying causes and any contextual factors associated with this tragic vehicular incident.
