Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Integrity Promotion, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Manpower, Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, has issued a ministerial decision to form the Kuwait Scrap Federation.

Article One of the decision states the Kuwait Scrap Federation shall be declared public and Article Two says this decision shall be effective from the date of its publication complete with a summary of the statute in the Official Gazette, according to a local Arabic daily.

The articles of the Kuwait Scrap Federation stated that the constituent general assembly met on July 8, 2021, and it was agreed between the founders to establish the Kuwait Scrap Federation, and its statutes stipulate the following:

— Anyone who holds a valid license approved by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for scraping activity or for a similar activity to be developed in the future shall be accepted into the membership of the union.
— The joining fee to the union is KD 100 to be paid once upon joining the member or upon re-registration.
— The annual subscription for membership of the union is 50 dinars.
— The General Assembly is to be held in April every 3 years.
— The Board of Directors of the Federation consists of 9 members elected by the General Assembly through a secret ballot for a period of 3 years, and it is required that the number be odd.
— The Board of Directors is the executive authority for the legitimate decisions issued by the General Assembly.
— The Chairman of the Board of Directors is the legal representative of the Federation before all parties.
— The fiscal year of the Federation begins from the beginning of April to the end of March of each year.
— Union funds are deposited in an account with local banks.
— The statute defines the competencies of the ordinary and extraordinary general assembly, the competencies of the board of directors, and the correspondence by the union.
