Kuwaiti Interior Minister and Acting Defense Minister Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali Al-Sabah said on Thursday the Gulf Shooting Exercise 2021 that concluded in the country earlier today reflected interaction and cooperation among Kuwaiti, Saudi and American military forces.

The maneuvers constitute a deterrence against any party with ill intentions against Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Thamer said, affirming that the approach of unification and cooperation at the military level by the GCC ministers of defense would be maintained.

Major General Mohammad Al-Dhafiri, Commander of the Kuwait Army Ground Force, said the exercise was characterized “with a spirit of brotherhood, friendship, cooperation, partnership and coordination” among the participating troops.

The drills included seminars and field training, Maj. Gen. Al-Dhafiri said, indicating that a key objective of the exercises was unifying concepts on planning, training and executing land operations.

Lieutenant General Fahad Al-Mutair, Commander of the Saudi Land Force, said he was elated to be present on the Kuwaiti territories on side of the “brothers in the Kuwaiti Land Force and the friends in the American Army.” He indicated that some mock battles had been carried out for enhancing the participating units’ ability to defend the Gulf security.
