The Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, Abdulaziz Al-Moajel, has approved the recommendations and gave nod to the minutes of the Municipal Council meeting No. 6 2022, held on October 10 of the Technical Committee in the Municipal Council, regarding addressing the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, before issuing demolition licenses for government buildings that are more than 40 years old.
According to the municipality it will not issue new permits to construct new structures adjacent to the historical and heritage buildings registered with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, except in coordination with the NCCAL and cooperation between the Municipal Council, the Municipality and the NCCAL, stressing the application of security, safety and firefighting requirements in all historical and heritage buildings and sites.
