Sheikh Firas Al-Saud, the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, has issued a ministerial decree to establish a committee within the Fatwa and Legislation Department.
This committee is tasked with conducting an inquiry into the operations of the Public Authority for Disability Affairs, under the leadership of Counselor Abdulaziz Al-Ajeel. The committee comprises members including Abdullah Al-Saleh, Majid Al-Majid, Fatima Al-Roumi, and all members of the Fatwa and Legislation Department, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The committee’s primary responsibility involves investigating and auditing all PADA contracts along with assessing its activities and overall functioning. It is further empowered to probe into any instances of administrative or financial irregularities that may come to light within the Public Authority for People with Disabilities.
Furthermore, the PADA management is mandated to facilitate the committee’s access to the authority’s premises at any given time, and provide all requested documents, papers, and data.
As per the directive, the committee convenes upon the invitation of its chairman, and a meeting is deemed valid when the majority of its members, including the chairman or their deputy, are present.
The committee is expected to present its recommendations based on the majority vote of the attending members. In cases of a tie, the chairman’s preference shall prevail. Detailed records of the committee’s meetings will be documented and signed by all present members.
