The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said requests for electric car chargers will be received on December 4, through the ministry’s website, indicating that the service will be available from Nov 26, on experimental basis.

The source told a local Arabic daily the ministry will form teams to examine chargers installed by private parties to follow up on the extent to which the owners comply with the conditions set by the ministry, in order to preserve the integrity of the electrical network adding that the ministry will issue citations if it discovers use of chargers not approved by the ministry.

The ministry had announced the regulation that aims to provide electric car chargers to customers, and set a mechanism to increase the locations of charging points in different regions in Kuwait, in addition to the foundations of linking the system to the network of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, in accordance with the technical conditions and standard standards appropriate to the climatic conditions of Kuwait with regard to car electrical chargers.
