The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said power supply to the last station Terminal ‘E’ of the new ‘T2’ airport will be completed on Nov 21 and with this the ministry will have completed providing the entire T2 with power supply as per the schedules necessary for the operation of those stations.

The Assistant Undersecretary for the Transportation Networks Sector at the Ministry of Electricity and Water Mutlaq Al-Otaibi announced the operation of the first major power supply stations at the Kuwait International Airport, which feeds T2 before the end of last October.

Al-Otaibi said in a press statement by operating these two stations, the ministry has remained true to its commitment to the Ministry of Public Works and the Public Authority for Civil Aviation to supply Kuwait International Airport T2 with power.

It is noteworthy to mention the ‘new airport’ is one of the most important projects of the ‘New Kuwait 2035’ vision, and one of the most important strategic projects in the country’s development vision and modernization of its infrastructure, within the framework of transforming Kuwait into a regional and international financial and commercial hub. Work on the project began in August 2016 and is being completed on time in August 2022. Terminal 2 has a capacity to handle 25 million passengers annually and is the latest regional hub in the Gulf region.
