he Ministry of Electricity and Water said the last date for submitting bids for the supply and installation of 4 main transmission stations in Al-Sabah Medical District has been postponed to May 22.

A local Arabic daily explained these stations will strengthen the power supply network in Al-Sabah Health District, which is one of the most important service areas, because the district has facilities such as the new maternity hospital, and other expansions implemented by the Ministry of Health in the region.

In a related context, the Central Agency for Public Tenders has agreed to award a tender for the maintenance of ‘reverse osmosis’ equipment with a capacity of 30 million imperial gallons in the Al-Zour South Power Plant to the winning company fulfilled all the technical and financial conditions in the tender for 8.6 million dinars.

The Ministry of Electricity indicated that maintenance work for the equipment of the various stations comes within the Ministry’s plans to increase the longevity of the various equipment used in power generation and water production in all stations.

CAPT sources indicated among the infrastructure projects whose tender procedures are currently being finalized include the construction of 3 reinforced concrete ground tanks for fresh water, each with a capacity of 115 million gallons, in the Al-Mutla’a Residential City, site No 1, which comes within the projects to increase the storage capacity of water in the new cities to meet the annual increase in water demand.
