The Ministry of Electricity and Water has paid 5,500 employees out of the total 10,800 employees who had offered to sell their earned leave.

The sources indicated the ministry spent about 50 million dinars, saying it is keen to speed up the pace of the disbursement process now, as between 600 and 700 transactions are sent daily to the Civil Service Commission for final approval after the documents are reviewed by the ministry, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The sources expected that the disbursement process for all beneficiaries for the past year would be completed by February 20, pointing out that the ministry has started since the beginning of January to receive requests from those who have offered to sell their earned leave for the current year, and that receiving requests will remain open throughout the year and will not be limited to a specific period, as happened last year.

The sources added, once the 2022 applications are completed, the new applications will be sorted out, reviewed and audited before disbursing their dues.
