The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy kickstarted the operations of the first major transfer station in the city of Al-Mutlaa on Wednesday, followed by the operation of three other stations on 6th of October, an Arab daily reported. Sources said that these 400 kV stations with a capacity of 2000 MW for the four stations will supply the main 132 kV substations that will be operated later and 11 kV stations as well.

On the other hand, the Audit Bureau rejected the ministry’s tender for electrical works in the southern Khaitan region until the process of linking government agencies’ budgets is completed, as the ministry had conducted studies and approved the winning company. The ministry has also obtained the approval of the Central Agency for Tenders.

Sources said that the financial item for this tender is provided for in the 2021-2022 budget, but the awarding of the winning company has not yet taken place and contracts to start work have not been signed because the budgets have not yet been linked.
