The Ministry of Electricity and Water launched an awareness media campaign to urge those taking part in the national days not to waste water during celebrations.
Informed sources told Al-Anba that this campaign aims to reduce the negative aspects of the celebrations, which are spraying water aimlessly and wasting this resource which costs the state a lot of money and effort for its production.
The sources said everyone understands people’s joy during these days, especially after two years of ‘no celebrations’ due to the pandemic, but this joy must be expressed in a joyful and harmless manner without wasting the state’s resources.
The sources pointed out that the estimated waste of water during the last celebration before the pandemic was about 14 million gallons at an estimated cost of 140,000 dinars, which indirectly is a loss attributed to the state budget
