Thursday, the Tourism Enterprises Company signed memorandums of agreement for the development of the waterfront and Blajat Beach projects, to be an outlet for visitors that will reflect the cultural and heritage of the State of Kuwait.

The CEO of the Touristic Enterprises Company, Fadel Al-Dosari, told Al-Qabas daily that the signing of these memorandums came in implementation of the desire of the political leadership with support provided by HH Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister.

Al-Dosari added that the waterfront project, which is 9.7 kilometers long, includes all basic services for visitors and includes more than 60 commercial and investment opportunities for Kuwaiti companies.

He mentioned that the waterfront project also includes sports activities, places for swimming, a bicycle path, a walking path, and recreational sites for children, indicating that this project was designed to serve people of determination.

For her part, Alia Al-Humaidhi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Projects Company, said that the Blajat Beach project, which covers an area of 230,000 square meters, includes recreational activities — sports activities, swimming areas, children’s games — and all basic services for beachgoers and events throughout the year, explaining that the opening of the first phase of the project will be in August.

The statement said that the waterfront development project will be implemented by “Dar SSH” and “Al-Ahmadiah Contracting and Trading” companies, while “Season Group” will implement the development of part of the Blajat Beach project.

The Touristic Enterprises Company was established in 1976 as a wholly state-owned company concerned with the operation and management of tourism and entertainment facilities in the country.
