Kuwait Cricket Club (KCC), the official governing body of Cricket in Kuwait and an associate member of the ICC completed a historic sign off with MEC Study group as the principal sponsors of Kuwait Juniors cricket where all the registered students in KCC and their family members will have access to unique scholarship programs powered by MEC Study Group.*

The official signing off ceremony between Kuwait Cricket Club and MEC Study Group was held on Wednesday 8th September at Olympic Council of Asia headquarters in Salmiya, whereby MEC Study Group obtained the naming rights of Kuwait U16 & U19 national teams for the season 2021.

The MOU was signed between MEC Study Group CEO Mr. Muizz Mirza and Kuwait Cricket Club President Mr. Haider Abbas Farman.

“This pathbreaking partnership & sponsorship will help all the junior cricket players registered with KCC and their family members..” Mr. Sajid Mohammad Ashraf, Director General of KCC, said. “MEC Study group will assist KCC in having close ties with universities in the UK & Australia so u19 players of Kuwait who have the potential to play for the national team in the future can continue to train at the highest level whilst abroad and KCC will also provide support in signing them up with local clubs and or counties (based on talent and past international performance for Kuwait) so they are able to gain the ultimate international exposure which we hope will help them return as better and stronger players for Kuwait in the future….”, Mr. Ashraf further added.

Kuwait Cricket President, in his motivational speech, congratulated all the junior cricket players. Appreciating MEC Study Group for the scholarship program for Kuwaiti nationals as well as the expatriate students registered with KCC, Farman said that KCC will not spare any efforts which will benefit the players in their game and in their career and the board is fully committed in doing so for its players across all categories and gender.

Commenting on the scholarship, MEC Study Group CEO Mr. Muizz Mirza said that the partnership with KCC will benefit the players upto 25 % scholarship on college tuition fees for higher studies. MEC Study Group has partnered with more than 700 universities across the world. Depending on the college, KCC registered players will get up to 25 % scholarship of their tuition fee. If you are part of the KCC registered team, you and your family members are eligible to avail the scholarship program, Mr. Mirza said.

In the case of Kuwait nationals, (which is an integral part of the KCC development program), and those who score 80% and above in the Tanawiya exam or any examination board equivalent, he or she will receive 100 % scholarship on tuition fees along with monthly salary of between 800 to 1300 KD per month if he is a registered member of Kuwait Cricket Club, Mr. Mirza added.

Large number of expatriate students playing cricket for the local cricket teams at juniors level in Kuwait can benefit from this scholarship program if their teams are registered with KCC.

Along with KCC President Haider Farman & CEO of MEC Study Group Mr. Muizz Mirza, KCC Vice President Faisal Al Marzouk, Board member Awatif Al Qallaf, Director General Sajid Ashraf, Kuwait Men’s Team Manager Mahmoud Abdullah & Official Print Solutions Partner of KCC Hafiz Mohammad Shabbir of Al Hafiz Co. attended the historic ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended and witnessed by media personalities from various communities and channels along with the Kuwait U16 & Kuwait 19 national probables squad who are ecstatic about the scholarship opportunity as facilitated by Kuwait Cricket Club through MEC Study Group.
