Passengers arriving from ten countries which includes India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Egypt, Syria Lebanon, Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan will have to produce a complete medical certificate that they are free from Coronavirus from their home country before entering Kuwait.
Effective March 8 all passengers will be mandated to get a clearance certificate from approved health centres by the embassy of Kuwait or certified health authority of the country if they wish to enter Kuwait.
In its notification number 25, dated March 3, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has noted that airlines who do not comply with the rules will be forced to bear the cost of return of the passenger.
The rule will not be applied to Kuwait citizens who are re-entering their country. The Kuwait government has also banned people from entering Kuwait from Coronovirus affected countries such as Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, Iran and Iraq.
Kuwait is taking a slew of measures to prevent the Coronoavirus from spreading with already 56 infected persons in the country and thousands in quaratine.
