The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Public Security Sector, Major General Faraj Al-Zoubi, announced the success of the security plan developed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, during the celebrations of Kuwait’s national holidays, indicating that it was implemented with distinction by the security officials.

Al-Zoubi said in an exclusive statement to Al-Rai that “The ministry had warned earlier about spraying water and throwing water-filled balloons, which are known to contain prohibited liquids, but unfortunately some allowed their children to throw balloons at people and vehicles, which was the cause of ‘scuffles’ during the celebrations,” and called on the parents the need to educate their children and warn them of this violating behavior, which negatively affects the celebrations and on some cases cause injury to the people.

He added: “Unfortunately, we have observed behaviors in violation of the text of the law by one of the women who insulted the national flag by tying it to one of the animals.

The law stipulates that anyone who commits an act in a public place that would insult the national flag or the flag of a non-enemy country, whether by destroying it trampling on it or by any other means that expresses hatred and contempt, shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three years, and a fine not exceeding two hundred and twenty-five dinars, or by one of these two penalties.”

He called on parents to raise awareness and warn their children about some behaviors that are alien to Kuwaiti society and are rejected by everyone, as they are offensive to an occasion dear to the hearts of the people of Kuwait.

He urged everyone to show the positive side on this occasion, which is the focus of attention of all countries of the world, stressing that patriotism is not spraying water, destroying public property and attacking others with legally criminal behavior.
