In a tragic accident, a maid and a toddler left in her care drowned in a chalet in Khairan. Security sources revealed that on receiving information of the incident, police and paramedics were rushed to the scene.
However, despite attempts by paramedics to resuscitate the victims on the spot, and the immediate use of an air-ambulance to airlift the two to Adan Hospital, the 25-year old Indian woman and the two-year-old Kuwaiti child were pronounced dead-on-arrival at the hospital.
According to the security sources, investigations revealed the parents of the child had gone out leaving the toddler under the care of the maid in the chalet.
