A special meeting will be organized on Thursday, which will be chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah AlKhaled through video conference. The Cabinet will be informed of the recommendations by special committee regarding the details of the conditions in three areas under lockdown, reports a local daily.

The full and accurate report will include all the details on to the health, social, economic and security conditions in each of these three lockdown areas of Mahboula, Jleeb AlShuyoukh and Farawaniya. The daily reports, quoting sources, that statistics related to the Mahboula area which has been under lockdown from 6th April, there has been “zero” coronavirus infections detected since June 18th. For last two weeks, Ministry of Health did not record infections of any citizens or expats in Mahboula.

The Council’s mandate for the emergency committee wil be headed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh and the membership of 5 ministers, including the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah and representatives of the competent authorities.

The Council of Ministers decided to continue the lockdown on Farwaniya, Mahboula and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh in June, and stressed that the lifting of the lockdown on these areas was dependent on the health authorities whenever they saw the appropriate time.

The issue was to be considered by the Supreme Ministerial Committee who follows up regularly the coronavirus infection updates and its spread.
