An earthquake 6.9 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred 399 km west-northwest of Suva in Fiji, at a depth of 587.2 km, the US Geological Survey said on Saturday.
The US Tsunami Warning System announced there was no danger of a tsunami in the aftermath of the earthquake, reports a local Arabic daily quoting Reuters
