A magnitude 5.5 quake jolted southern Mindanao on Wednesday, 19 October, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported. The quake, tectonic in origin, was at a depth of 26 km (16 miles) and struck the west of Digos, Province of Davao del Sur, Philippines, at 4:05 PM. No known casualties have been reported.
