The Criminal Court has decided to postpone the hearing into the case of the so-called ‘Luxury Cars Office’ to Sept 11, 2023, in which 455 plaintiffs – almost all of them citizens are demanding compensation.

In the meantime the court has turned down the request of the defense panel to release the owner of the office and one of his partners, but let go 9 others who were working in the company.

It also refused the defense panel’s request to unfreeze the bank balances so help the company pay the plaintiffs their money or or reduce the number of claims.

The criminal court at the Palace of Justice witnessed an unprecedented crowd of people curious to know the outcome of the trial of those accused of fraud.

Two suspect (citizens) were placed inside the cage, as dozens of citizens demanded 5001 dinars each temporary compensation for the damages who were reportedly sold cars for much less than the original price quoted by the agency, which the office failed to hand over.
