The cabinet’s decision to ban all social events and the recent decision of the Ministry of Trade to ban the import of sheep and goats for three months has negatively impacted the livestock markets in the country, Al Qabas reported.

The decision to stop gathering activities and catering supplies has slowed the business in the livestock market. The Daily also observed that the price point of the available quantities of Australian meat was also unusually high.

The vendors attributed the reason for the recession to the precautionary measures implemented by the government to control the spread of coronavirus, as well as consumers’ preference for sheep from the Australian market.
