The Secretary of the Lawyers’ Association, Khaled Al-Suwaifan, denounced the irresponsible actions and deviating from the law of the legal profession and its charter of honor, by a lawyer who blackmailed a citizen, stressing that the Board of Directors of the association will take all measures against anyone who violates that law and the charter, or offends the established customs of the profession.
Al-Suwaifan told Al-Jarida daily, that the association is reviewing the conditions and rules that must be met by those who apply for the legal profession in order to preserve the legal profession in Kuwait, explaining that the “lawyer” is no less important than any other profession, but rather it is at the top of the legal professions.
He stressed that the association is keen on protecting the rights of its members and defending them, and at the same time is keen to take legal measures against violators of its law or charter and traditions, especially after the approval of the profession charter by the General Assembly.
