The Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport told Reuters today, Thursday, that Lebanon has awarded the French company CMA CGM a contract to manage, operate and maintain the container terminal in the port of Beirut for a period of ten years.
A massive explosion in the port in 2020 killed more than 200 people and damaged entire neighborhoods, exacerbating the worst political and economic crisis in Lebanon since the 1975-90 civil war, reports Al-Rai daily.
