Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has been accosted by a parliamentarian for providing building loans to other countries, while the infrastructure needs of Kuwait remained unattended from lack of funds.
Lawmaker Osama Al-Shaheen has demanded to know why KFAED provided a loan of US$15 million to Egypt to facilitate the building of four water desalination plants in that country. He called for the immediate cancellation of that loan, considering that there are many projects in Kuwait awaiting adequate funding.
