The Kuwait Municipality has decided to allocate a site for the establishment of industrial projects and the recycling of oil waste following a request submitted by the Direct Investment Promotion Authority.

Al-Qabas quoting sources said an area measuring 1,560 square meters has been allotted for the establishment of industrial projects for the recycling of oil waste north of Al-Zour Refinery, according to the agreement concluded between the Authority and the Public Authority for Industry.

The sources the municipality stipulated that it is staying away from any land-based services, if any, and adhere only to environmental standards in the region, as these two projects are among the vital projects, and are of great importance for treating refinery waste in the State of Kuwait, as well as providing job opportunities for a large number of national cadres, and will also have a positive impact on the Kuwaiti environment and the national economy.

The study carried out by the Municipality showed the proposed site is one of the most appropriate classified for heavy industrial uses within the fourth structural plan, due to its proximity to the fourth Al-Zour plant (the new Al-Zour refinery), and transporting quickly (flammable) catalysts for long distances and also due to proximity from Mina Al-Zour to export the produced goods.
