A folk music and dance troupe from Kyrgyzstan gave a memorable performance at the Abdulhussain Abdulredha Theater on 21 February.
The event, a collaborative effort between the Kyrgyzstan Embassy in Kuwait and the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), was held to commemorate Kyrgyzstan’s Independence Day and the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Kuwait.
The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Kuwait H.E. Samargul Adamkulova, Secretary General of NCCAL, Ali Al-Yoha, and Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan, Azamat Jamankulov, along with a large gathering of special invitees attended the event.
Ambassador Adamkulova welcomed the gathering and congratulated Kuwait on the national holidays, while encouraging people to visit Kyrgyzstan.
Minister Jamankulov, who lauded the concert for its high-level production quality, pointed out that the audiences were amazed at the performance by the talented artists participating in the various shows.
During the event, performers in dazzling costumes showcased a variety of traditional folk music and dances, while artists, playing on traditional instruments, enthralled the audience. Adding further enchantment to the show were fascinating circus acts and a fashion show that displayed the best designs of popular designers from the Kyrgyz Republic. On the sidelines of the event, an exhibition of national clothes and traditional Kyrgyzstan art decor was also displayed.
A high note of the event was the superb performance by Salamat Sadikova, who is regarded as the voice of traditional music of Kyrgyzstan. She has led many performances across several countries.
