Director of Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Eng. Yusef Al-Fawzan, announced that Kuwaitis are permitted entry to the country at any time, even if they are arriving from the 31 countries currently on a ban list from entering Kuwait, as long as they can show a PCR certificate with a validity of 72 hours, reports Al Anba daily.

Al-Fawzan remarked that health authorities have requested people avoid traveling to and from 31 countries due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, and mentioned that the list undergoes a re-evaluation every 10 days after monitoring the health situation in those countries. Outlining the guidelines for traveling, he said that only a handbag is allowed while baggage is prohibited on the plane. Highlighting that travel is not restricted to age limit, he stated that anyone can travel with a PCR certificate, health insurance for Kuwaitis and have registered through the app.

He added that there were around 400 flights per day, but it is now reduced to 100 flights. Kuwait International Airport also strictly adheres to precautionary measures such as wearing face masks, physical distancing and wearing gloves. Expats from the banned country list cannot fly directly or via transit to Kuwait, but can arrive if they have stayed in any other country not on the ban list for 14 days and have secured a PCR test certificate, which is valid for 72 hours on arrival.
