The Civil Service Commission has approved the rare specialization allowance for Kuwaiti and Gulf female mathematics teachers working in secondary school only, after their percentage decreased to 27.5% of the total number of employees.

A local Arabic daily said the teachers are expected to be paid 200 dinars allowance retroactively from the beginning of the 2021-2022 scholastic year (last October) – teachers of rare specialization. Informed sources said that the administrative sector in the Ministry of Education since last Thursday has begun the procedures to disburse the money to eligible Kuwaiti and Gulf teachers.

According to official statistics, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, the number of teachers working in the intermediate and secondary levels who are entitled to the rare specialization allowance has increased to 1,678 male and female teachers; 8 different specializations for males — Arabic, English, French, mathematics, science, and physics and chemistry and biology, compared to only two majors for females at the secondary level, mathematics and physics.

The Ministry of Education is scheduled to issue decisions to add the bonus for the newly added teachers this week, and then upload it to the integrated systems, in preparation for sending the list of statements to the financial sector for retroactive disbursement and depositing the money in their respective bank accounts.

The Civil Service Commission has agreed to grant members of the Kuwaiti educational authority and citizens of the GCC countries rare specialization allowance for the academic year 2021-2022.
